Brave Under Coins
A downloadable game for Windows
About the Game
This game combines the mechanics of a "Coin Pusher" with medieval RPG elements, adding a meaningful purpose to collecting coins. Instead of spinning roulettes or slots like in a typical Coin Pusher, you defeat enemies to earn rewards.
The core gameplay is based on Coin Pusher mechanics, while the RPG elements serve as motivation to keep playing.
This is a stage-based game where players collect coins using the Coin Pusher, purchase equipment and items, and take on new stages and tougher enemies.
I am continuously brainstorming and refining gimmicks and systems to make the game even more engaging and enjoyable.
During the development process, I have utilized ChatGPT for code review, debugging, and ensuring the logical consistency of algorithms. While all implementations and final decisions are made by me.
Implemented Features
- Save & Load functionality
- Travel between the village and stages
- Basic Coin Pusher mechanics
- A unique gimmick replacing the traditional "Lost Zone"
- Battles against enemies
- Differentiated boss fights
- Boss rewards
- Clear conditions
- [add 12/10] Opening boss reward chest and adding items to inventory:
Players can open chests during the results screen to reveal boss rewards, which are then automatically added to their inventory.
Planned Features
- Skill activation timing and effects based on weapon types
- Weapon drops and purchases
- Dice system: optional activation similar to a slot, with both benefits and risks, as well as various types
- Enemy attacks with board effects: removing coins, narrowing the drop zone, delaying skill activation
- Treasure hunting elements: randomized boss rewards with rarity levels
- Quests: accepted from guilds or NPCs, with fixed rewards and progress tracking
- Tasks: additional challenges within stages for bonus rewards, separate from quest completion
- Roguelite stages: endless stages with randomized enemies and bosses, offering unique dice and weapons unavailable elsewhere
- [add 12/10] Durability System for Weapons:
Weapons will have durability, which decreases only upon completing a quest. Exiting mid-quest or failing a quest will roll back your progress to before the quest began, ensuring no durability is consumed. Even if a weapon's durability reaches zero, it can be repaired using another weapon of the same rarity and a certain amount of coins.
